W A N D E R L U S T

There's a large part of me that lingers on from my childhood that can't help but love the discovery of secret tucked away places that are overgrown and abandoned. Perhaps its the mystery of it all. Who once lived here? Who lives here now or stays hidden away here? What happened to this place? I'm a sucker for adventure and getting lost, which I've found to become all the more difficult the closer I get to adult life.

Franco and I stumbled upon this place entirely by accident after driving around the downtown area in my hometown. In a run down area close to an old neighborhood sits a cluster of abandoned apartment buildings. Windows were broken and cracked, doors kicked open, and remnants of past lives or current ones lay strewn acorss dirty carpet floors. This place has a certain degree of cool-eerieness, so I figured why not snap a pictures while we poke around and wander the grounds.

I wanted to shoot another look in my favorite trouser pants that was a bit more dressed up in comparison to my previous sporty look. For the most part, this look is causal and comfortable, but with the addition of a pair of heels, it could easily be worn for a night time event or date night. I discovered this awesome vintage Guess gym bag at a thrift store and liked how I was able to maintain a sporty element for this look while maintaining a certain degree of sophistication. My gloriously fake and cheap 'Birks' seemed like the easiest and most comfortable way to complete this simple look.

J U S T - D O - I T

After driving around my home town expecting to stumble upon a less than average place too shoot, I was surprised to find this New York-esque alley way behind an old laundry mat downtown. Finally I have place where I can pretend to live out my city girl dreams. Sigh...

For anyone who follows my instagram, you may have noticed I've taken a strong liking to the straight leg suit pant. Beyond the sheer comfort aspect, I love being able to dress up, or dress down a staple that's been known to make an appearance only in the office. For this look I decided to keep it causal, paring my suit pants with a cropped vintage Nike's tee and some glorious thrifted Nike Air Max's that I picked up a couple weeks ago.
