TEST SHOOT: PAR 1

I recently had the opportunity to work with the talented Mitchell Flores who has shot some of my previous outfit posts, on styling a shoot with Hallie Owens of The Dragonfly Agency for a test shoot. We ventured out to Dallas and took over (as best we could) a local golf course and the lovingly small (and un-air conditioned) bathroom to pull together a schoolgirl inspired shoot with a fresh, modern take. I wanted to capture the simplicity and charm of the traditional school uniform while maintaining some of my own personal style by adding sportier pieces such as the layered mesh crop top and platform slip-ons.

For makeup, I kept the eye simple with just mascara and a hint of rosy blush on the lids. The lips are a lip stain by Lime Crime in the color Wicked and for highlights I used an old favorite, Benefit's High Beam. For contouring, I used a cheap, but fantastic bronzer by NYC in 724. The hairstyles I created for this look reflect the more modern and edgy aspects of each look and required a hell of a lot of gel and hairspray. Warning: do not duplicate this shoot in 100 degree Texas heat.

XOXXO, Laurel

Here are a couple favorites from the final shoot. For the rest you can check out Mitchell's portfolio here as well as his tumblr. Shout out to this sweet and bubbly babe for driving us around on a golf cart while being harassed by the employee who asked us if we were actually golfing. Of course not, but as least we look bad while sweating it out on the green.
