There's nothing quite as magical as shooting in a botanical garden in the middle of summer while being surrounded by tropical plants and a dewy canopy overhead. Mitchell Flores and I decided this was the perfect location for our shoot with the beautiful Vivian Patrick of The Cambell Agency, who is reminiscent of a young Brooke Shields and simply stunning in all of the final photos. I wanted to stick with earthy tones and a minimalist style to contrast with the exotic foliage and natural environment. For makeup and hair, I kept things simple and organic, with a bit of lip color and a spritz of water on the hair. If you've never taken the time to walk through a botanical garden before, it is well worth the drive or dollar. This is the kind of place that you can go to alone, breathe in the fresh air, maybe take a sketch book and scribble down some quiet thoughts. Add this to your travel list.
