S U I T - Y O U R S E L F

The pantsuit - something well known throughout history as being associated with positions of power. As a woman, I feel powerful in a suit and it's boxy, more "masculine" features. I enjoy this feeling of sophistication the pant suit allows, even when I don't have any important destination in mind. There's something to be said about the freedom the pantsuit has given women, and continues to give women every day. I am declaring this a new staple in every women's wardrobe, even for those who don't work in an office or have themselves a big girl job yet (ahem me, whoops). To keep it casual, I threw on some Nike Air Force One's, and a simple knitted crop top for the second version of this look. Pink and Powerful

A big thank you to the wonderful Fatimeh Nadimi who worked her magic and took all of these lovely photos. You can check out her work here as well as locate her contact information for booking future shoots. She is beyond talented and a total babe, and I highly recommend her if you're interested in getting any sort of photos taken.

P L A I D - & - S L A C K S

There's something overly satisfying about wearing business casual clothing for non-business reasons, not that I wouldn't mind rockin' a more dressed up version of this outfit for future adult-type endeavors. I have a deep love (and need) for more classics and essentials in my wardrobe, so I was stoked when I found these high-waisted black slacks for cheap at my favorite rummage-through-it-all quick stop. Simple slacks are great for dressing up and even dressing down any outfit. My Nike footgear seemed like the best way to achieve a more casual look without appearing like I was up next for an interview (whelp!). Falling back to my all neutral color scheme, I cropped this thrifted tee to add a bit more grey, as if this cloudy shoot didn't have enough dim lighting to hold it's own.

S H E E R - H A P P E N I N G S

I love sheer fabrics and when this tee arrived at my doorstep, I was already planning out different pieces to pair it with. Sheer pieces are great because they allow you to play with the level of skin you want to reveal in a somewhat subtle way. For this look I wanted something simple that left the sheer aspect of the outfit as the central area of focus. The mesh skirt was surprisingly somewhat of an after thought, but a happy one if that. I look forward to trying this baby out with many different pieces. Baggy mom jeans, I'm coming for ya.
